We are looking for members of the community who are as passionate as we are about bringing quality mental health care to everyone, regardless of socioeconomic status. Board members are responsible for the leadership, oversight, and governance of the Safe Haven Counseling Foundation. Board members meet quarterly, serve on committees as needed, and participate in fund-raising activities for the organization. This is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual who is passionate about Safe Haven’s mission and who has a track record of board leadership. Selected Board Members will have achieved leadership stature in business, government, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector. His/her accomplishments will allow him/her to attract other well-qualified, high-performing Board Members.
Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:
Extensive professional experience with significant executive leadership accomplishments in business, government, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector.
A commitment to and understanding of Safe Haven’s beneficiaries, preferably based on experience.
Savvy diplomatic skills and a natural affinity for cultivating relationships and persuading, convening, facilitating, and building consensus among diverse individuals.
Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a passion for improving the lives of Safe Haven’s clients.
Service on Safe Haven’s Board of Directors is without remuneration, except for administrative support, travel, and accommodation costs in relation to Board Members’ duties.

Are you a counselor who is looking for a way to give back to your local community?
We are looking for local mental health care practitioners to help us achieve our mission. Each of our partnering counselors holds an attitude of excellence in practice and compassion in care for our clients. We want to connect you with clients who might not be able to access mental health care through traditional means (i.e. private pay, insurance). Each client who is approved for assistance will pay their sliding scale fee directly to you, and we will reimburse the difference up to $100 per session. Each of our partnering counselors is featured on our website and through social media. If approved, you will have the opportunity to work with an under-served population, gain referrals, and give back to your local community.
